STICKS & STONES is a disc golf course on 11 acres of private property in Bailey, Colorado. Established in 2020, it was designed and built over the span of three months by Scott Snow with the help of some good friends. It premiered on July 5th as a tag match for the Foothill Flyers Disc Golf Club and Scott’s 35th birthday celebration.

At 9,000’ elevation, the course features a variety of elements common to Colorado’s mountain regions including pine and aspen groves, large rock outcroppings, abundant wildlife, and marvelous views of peaks and valleys.

The 9-hole track features two tees and two targets on each hole boasting a total of 36 uniquely challenging holes. The gold, blue, white, and red color-coded tees and targets mark the four primary layouts - red being the easiest and shortest, white and blue being moderate in difficulty and length, and gold being the most challenging and longest layout. Want to mix it up? Each round can be customized hole-by-hole for a more varying layout, as is done with most tag matches to keep the ace runs flowing and the par fours for scoring separation.

The T1 targets by Prodigy Disc are PDGA-approved at the championship level and represent the highest quality in construction and performance available in the sport. The natural tees are a flat 4’x8’ (minimum) surface area and consist of hard-packed Colorado rock and dirt. The main course improvement objective for 2021 is to install turf tees for the most reliable and comfortable footing possible.

FAQs

How do I play S&S?

STICKS & STONES is most easily accessible to play via an organized club or group event. The Foothill Flyers play here regularly. Dragon, Mile High, and several other clubs occasionally host tag matches here. Join in on the fun when your group comes, or request that your group organize an outing here.

You may also request a private tee time, however, these can be difficult to arrange due to our full time work schedules. We try to be accommodating and flexible, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. That said, be prepared to be flexible when requesting a private tee time.

How much does it cost to play S&S?

There are no greens fees. We hope you enjoy the opportunity to play a unique and special course on private property in the mountains away from crowded public parks. If you find value in this, feel free to express your appreciation in the form of a course donation. If you’d like a memento of your contribution we have custom stickers, bag tags, and discs.

Can I just show up to play anytime?

No. This property is not open to public access. This is our private residence on a private road. Uninvited guests are not allowed and will not be permitted to play. Go play the Bailey DGC off Rosalie Rd. It’s one of the best in the state.

What do I do when I arrive at S&S?

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out the course map. Park in the designated parking area and meet Amber or me at the S&S clubhouse. We will get you checked in and give you the run down and send you on your way.

Will I get my lost disc back?

Fortunately, a disc lost at a private course commonly finds its way back home, although, sometimes it can take a little while to be discovered due to an obscure location or snow coverage. Keep the trend alive. If you find a disc, leave it here and we’ll reach out to its owner. You know you would hope to be reunited with your lost go-to.
